AgriSafe-NC works to improve the health and safety of North Carolina's farmers and their families through the use of a community based program. The program focuses on targeting four crucial points. 1) Clinicial health exams by a trained healthcare professional to check general wellness and health conditions; 2) Educational programs for farmers aimed at occupational health and wellness information tailored to sepcific farm operations; 3) Assistance in selection, fit and use of personal protective equipment to prevent occupational illness and injury; 4) Family advocacy services to assist farmers and their families with common issues including insurance coverage, caring for aging family members, and stress associated with farming operations.
